DCS: Hi, I am Kunal Patel. I have seen many ups and downs in my life. Since childhood, I was the best student in my school. All teachers loved me. My principal knew me well because of my grades. My parents were so much proud of me. But because I was the favorite of my teachers, I could not make good friends. Other students did not want to talk to me. Even after being the best student in my school, I could not make a girlfriend. All other guys use to take away every girl that I had a crush on. There could be various reasons, which I kept on thinking about those days:

1. Maybe because I wear specs.
2. Maybe because I wear loose pants.
3. Maybe because I was always busy keeping my teachers happy.
4. Maybe I had so much to study and so little time to concentrate on the girls.
5. May be because my father was a strict army man.

I use to believe in all the above points and console myself. But the point was nobody likes the teacher’s favorite in school. I further joined BBA and then MBA because my father wanted me to take care of his business empire. I was made to join the office during my free time during my college days. So, I could not go on outings with friends and enjoy myself like my classmates. Being a Gujarati, people feel that I was money minded. But I had no other option. Being disciplined and respecting elders was in my blood. They had everything planned for me. But the only thing they had not planned was which way my heart will go.

“Good morning Sir.” She had a beautiful, dulcet voice.

“Good morning Poorvi. Please have a seat.” I smiled. She smiled back, put her file on the table, and sat down.

“Poorvi I have checked your CV, it was quite impressive.” As I look at her CV kept on my desk.

“Thank you, sir.”

Oh, that voice. It’s so melodic and attractive. I can’t control myself from looking upon her.

“Just one question, why do you think you are the best for this job?”

“Sir, I am hardworking and always ready to learn. Maybe I would do some mistakes, but I assure you, those mistakes would not be repeated. I can manage any work given to me and good at time management. You will never hear a ‘No’ from me for anything.”

She replied very confidently. There
was something special about her.

“Great Poorvi. I am impressed. We will see how you fulfill all these things you have promised to me. Please meet Ms. Sujata at the reception and she will explain your job profile. You can join from tomorrow.”

“Thank you, sir” She smiled again. There was so much self-reassurance and confidence in her smile.

She left the cabin but my eyes were
still fixed on her until she went out the door. I could feel her fragrance all
around my room.

The next day, I came early to the office. She had to join as my secretary. I could not take her face out of my eyes and can hear her melodious voice, the whole night. There was something special about her eyes and her voice. They can attract anyone. I saw her coming from the main entrance with Sujata Ji. She was wearing black trousers and a white collared shirt with the same hairstyle. Her seat was just opposite my cabin.

I saw Sujata Ji explaining her work and also handing over some files. The whole day I could not concentrate on my work. Every time she came into my room to get my signature on some papers or talk about my appointments, I was spellbound. I could not help staring at her beautiful blue eyes.

This became a routine for almost every day. A golden suntan usually brings out her smooth, clear complexion and high cheekbones. Her slightly arched chestnut brown eyebrows highlight her emotions by moving up and down as she reacts to her world around her.

Her large deep blue eyes, remind me of a lake on a stormy day. Her curved nose gives her, a little girl look that makes me want to smile when she talks. And her mouth is a small mouth outlined by puffy lips that she often accentuates with glossy pink lipstick.

She was also very hard working. She had a go-getter attitude. She always stayed until all work is over. There was no pending job on any day. All my meetings were well scheduled. There was so much positivity in her words. I use to look outside my window, every day she leaves the office and smile. But I had no idea, how I am going to tell her my feelings for her. Also, I didn’t know whether she had any feelings for me or not.

I could not help observing her more and more as I saw her every day. But that day, she was looking so beautiful. Her thick, wavy long black hair gracefully falls down to her shoulders and encircles her diamond-shaped face. Her face was glowing unusually.

That day, when I looked outside the window, I noticed that she had changed her office wear. She was wearing a short mango color dress that sticks to her body. Her voluptuous body was looking more mesmerizing in that dress. I saw her walking towards the main gate. The swing of her well-rounded hips muddled my heart.

But suddenly I saw a guy who came close and hugged her. She smiled and hugged back and kissed him. They both sat on his sports bike and left. And with them left all my dreams.

I felt dejected. Actually I had no right to be sad because obviously she would love someone handsome and why a person like me, who is always behind files and had no social life. So, I tried to avoid looking at her and thinking about her from that day. But the more I tried to forget her, the more I use to think about her.
